Tips and Tricks on how to maximize the life of your candle

Soy Wax

Container Candles

Trim the candle wick to 1/8-1/4 inch before each use. It will ensure your candle burns cleaner and longer. This will also prevent the candle from burning hotter than it should. It’s easier in soy wax for wicks to mushroom, trimming the wick will prevent this!

Allow the melt pool to reach the edge of the container to prevent tunneling. This is most important on the first light to create an even burn for the candle. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. See video on how to fix tunneling with aluminum.

Safety! Burn in a safe environment. Place the candle on non-flammable, heat resistant surfaces away from drafts, pets and children. Drafts cause uneven burning, smoking and a weakened scent throw. Do not leave unattended.

Never burn the candle to the very end. Extinguish when there is 1/4 inch of wax left. The flame needs a wax base to avoid overheating the container.

Beeswax

Sculptural Candles

Our sculptural candles are made with a beeswax and coconut oil blend. Beeswax allows candles to burn longer, drip less and naturally smell wonderful without any addition of fragrance.

Honeycomb taper candles can be squeezed from the bottom to fit most candle holders. Beeswax is the perfect substitute for those with soy allergies.

  • Before lighting, remove labels and trim wick to 1/8 inch.

  • Always burn beeswax candles on a heat-proof drip plate to prevent wax drippings on surfaces.

  • If spillage occurs: DO NOT WIPE immediately, it will spread! Instead, stop the spillage and let the wax settle (this will happen very quickly). Soften the wax with a hairdryer or heat gun. Once melted, wipe off with a soft cloth. If wood, wipe with a mild vinegar solution.

How to fix a tunneling candle:

  • Tear a square piece of aluminum foil. Rationalize and adjust depending on the size of your candle.

  • Fold foil in half to create a rectangle and wrap around your candle. This will form a cylinder.

  • Partially squeeze the top of the cylinder where the vessel does not meet the foil to contain the heat. Allow for air flow and do not allow the aluminum foil to come into contact with direct fire.

  • Burn your candle as you normally would and remove foil once tunneling has been cleared. Take caution to prevent cuts or burns.

Sustainable Soy Wax

Soy wax is made from soybeans, making them environmentally friendly and a natural alternative to paraffin, which is petroleum based. Candles made from soy burn cleaner and result in less soot. Our scented candles won’t detract from your air quality. Support your environment and your health. Breath easy.

Purifying Beeswax

Are you allergic to soy? We have the perfect substitute. Candles made from beeswax release negative ions into the air when burned. These ions improve mood and clean the air of dust, pollen and odors. Beeswax also emits a bright, healthful light within the same spectrum as the sun and burn cleanly without smoke or toxic fumes.

Beeswax can be safely termed as cruelty-free as bee workers do not harm or kill bees while extracting from their honeycomb.

Cotton Wicks

Our candle wicks are made from raw materials and are lead and zinc free. Composed of 100% cotton yarn, this gives us candles that are free of black smoke and environmentally friendly. The reinforced construction of these wicks are designed to ensure a consistent burn.

Always trim your wick!

Unrefined Coconut Oil

Our Sculptural Collection candles are infused with unrefined virgin coconut oil. This wax blend allows the molded candles to burn slower, more evenly, consistently and prevents tunneling. This gives us time to enjoy our candles longer since they’re already too pretty to burn! This process does not include Honeycomb Candles.

Non-toxic Fragrances

Our fragrance oils are infused with natural essential oils and 100% phthalate-free. Phthalates have been in the news about materials to avoid however other chemicals with similar health concerns have also been excluded from our fragrances, including animal derivatives, antimicrobials and additional molecules. We’re here for the clean scents.
